What is Man & How to Become One 👤

3 Quotes I live by:

1- “A real man will be honest no matter how painful the truth is. A coward hides behind lies and deceits.” -Anonymous

If you have been following my daily posts for a while, you will notice that I speak freely of my thoughts, my feelings and my emotional states.

I have mentioned almost everything I do. I cry. I laugh. I have my days. I get hurt. I get happy. Crazy. Moody. Sexy. I could go on.

Reading has helped me become my true self and never ashamed to reveal my thoughts and emotions out to the world without any sense of indignity.

I am who I am. I am never afraid what you would think of me. No matter what I say or how I express myself.

When people say a man should be strong. A man shouldn’t cry. A man should do this. Be that.

I get insanity hiccups.

How could people stop men from becoming real men.

To me, Real men cry. Real men express themselves freely. Real men never hide. Real men follow their hearts. Real men let their emotions and thoughts speak through being transparent.

If someone I truly love hurts me, I will cry. Simply because I am a real man. Real men cry.

If someone you love hurts you and you don’t cry, it means one of two things:

– you never loved that person truly.

– you are not a real man.

Some will argue that a man should control himself and be strong, this is not right.

A man should express himself freely at anytime without any sort of fear of what people would think.

This notion only applies when you’re among people you care about.

At work or in public is a different story.

2- “The most attractive thing a man can do is exactly what he says he’s going to do.” -Anonymous

One day I said to myself “I will join the British Royal Marines”

Another day I said “I will work for P&G and Apple”

Another “I will take my family on an all inclusive luxury holiday”

Another “I will make money out of my passion”

“I will date a woman who’d make my world beautiful”

“I will have six packs”

“I will run a marathon”

“I will make lots of money”

“I will make others happy”

I did all of the above.

How?

I took actions.

A real man is defined by his actions not by his words. I make my actions and results speak better than my words.

If you want to do something, go do it.

Take an action now. Stop reading and plan ahead.

3- “No man has the right to be an amateur in the matter of physical training. It’s a shame for a man to grow old without seeing the beauty and strength of which his body is capable.” – Socrates

Since I came across this quote after reading The Story Of Philosophy, I have been incorporating fitness exercising almost daily.

Many times I would pound the pavements twice a day, go for a long swim, take my shirt off and start 7 minutes in hell and more.

To me, If a man doesn’t exercise at least 5 times a week; he wouldn’t fit my definition of understanding of what a Real Man is.

How do I exercise daily twice, thrice or quadrice ? (I know the word doesn’t exist, but pretend I made it so)

I follow Shwarzenneger’s advice “Get in. Get it done. Get out” and the mindset of a Marine “Don’t Think. Just do.”

You can apply such thinking habits to any discipline in life you want to make it happen.

Here’s a bonus 4th quote as a way of thank you for reading my posts 😉

“Many people, especially ignorant, want to punish you for speaking the truth, for being correct, for being you. Never apologies for being correct or for being year’s ahead f your time. If you’re right and you know it, speak your mind. Even if you are a minority of one. The truth is still the truth.” -Gandhi
